早排細讀 Google Cloud Next 2017 懶人包（100個新公佈），其中見到一項提到 HSBC ，雖然唔知關唔關 HSBC HK 事，直到今日又見到 HSBC 傳出會炒人，又鈎起阿 Gap 嘅思緒，不得不分享下自己嘅想法：

節錄如下：

62. HSBC - HSBC is one of the world's largest financial and banking institutions and making a large investment in transforming its global IT. The company is working closely with Google to deploy Cloud DataFlow, BigQuery and other data services to power critical proof of concept projects

其中一句 「HSBC making a large investment in transforming its global IT」的確好符合呢兩個月見到嘅新聞。

「IT 人」嘅定義真係五花百門，HSBC 炒嘅係邊一門邊一派應該只有內幕至知或者有人發夢見到😂。

Infra/System 人確岌岌可

如果根據「HSBC is working closely with Google to deploy...」去推測，咁絕對可預視到做 Infra/System 嘅 IT 人的確岌岌可。

2017年 Container Orchestration、Infrastructure as Code 大行其道，試諗下 3 個 DevOps + Cloud 已經可以取代一條十幾至幾十人只負責做 Infra 嘅 Team（之前都分享過 EverNote 上 Google Cloud 嘅例子，可以自行碌落啲搵番）。

如果你無概念點為之 Infrastructure as Code，你可以諗成

用 Code 起 Infra，完全唔會涉及任何人手 Configuration，一鍵起哂成個 Infrastructure（包括 Multi-AZ,  failover handling, health check, Load balancing, Network Balancing...etc）

除咗用少咗人，出錯機會比起以前用「人」做嘅 Manual Ramdom Scripting 更低；另外最重要係可以做 Source Control 😎 可以隨意開 Branch 做第二套 Infra

阿 Gap 兩年前已經開始問自己：

請人做 Infra 貴定係上 Cloud 貴？

今日睇多咗咁多案例可以好確實咁答番自己，「貴」唔一定係講緊錢，貴可以貴在 High Handover overhead、Low Sustainability 🙂
